iOS Security Feature Exploration
Gen Digital·2025
Overview
This project is under NDA.
Engineers had a technical solution. My job was to figure out what the experience would actually feel like for users and whether it was worth building.
Role
This was a close collaboration with an engineer. They brought the technical solution, I brought the experience lens. My job was to translate what was technically possible into a testable interaction and prototype it in Cursor and Xcode to get as close to the real native experience as possible.
Approach
Built a lightweight native iOS prototype using Cursor, Xcode, and GitHub. The goal was to access real native system behaviour that Figma simply cannot replicate — actual iOS interactions, on device, as close to final as possible without writing production code.
What It Revealed
The native prototype allowed us to experience the feature as it would actually exist on device. Those findings directly informed the product decision.
Reflection
Using Cursor to build a functional prototype compressed weeks of back-and-forth into something testable in days. That changed how I think about what designers can own in the product development process.
